A talk about the creative process and how we can find inspiration by looking at the world around us differently.
Dimitris Savvakos is a creative director living in Athens, Greece. He is currently working at Ogilvy Athens guiding three creative teams to develop multi-disciplinary campaigns and ideas for international and local clients.
His work attempts to create advertising campaigns that engage people in an unexpected and playful way, instead of just delivering commercial messages.
Dimitris gets inspired by various things. The web and the do-it-yourself technology of the early 00s, when the internet transformed itself from a display medium into a creative platform and started moving away from computer screens into new devices. The gaming culture of the late 90s and how it influenced storytelling and contemporary entertainment and the creative process of street photographers and the ways they manage to create art out of the ordinary life using the world’s most common creative tool: a camera.
Dimitri’s work has been recognized at more than 200 local and international awards and his projects have been mentioned at international media such as the Mashable, the Independent and the Huffington Post.
